Maureen A. (Balas) Bellinghausen

Maureen Andrea Bellinghausen, 61, of Sugarloaf, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Born in Hazleton, October 12, 1964, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Gocek) Balas and spent the past 22 years in Sugarloaf.

Maureen was a 1982 graduate of Hazleton High School and also graduated as an LPN.  She was last employed at Immanuel Christian School, Hazleton and was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Hazle Twp. At age 28, Maureen surrendered her life to Christ. Maureen was courageous and unapologetic in speaking the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others and unceasing in her prayer life. Her biggest joy was sharing the Word of God because she experienced firsthand, the Love and closeness of her Savior and wanted to share Him with everyone.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her brother, Thomas Balas.

Surviving are her loving husband of 35 years, Carl; two children, Brandon, IN; and Sarah and husband Richard Egrie, Sugarloaf; three grandchildren, Lilly, Genny and Grace; two sisters, Christine and Theresa, both of Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 12 PM at Grace Fellowship Church, 27 Pecora Blvd, Hazle Township, PA 18202. Friends may call at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, assisted the family with the arrangements.
