Joyce E. (Dice) DeFrain

Joyce E. DeFrain, 73, of Hazle Township, passed away January 20, 2026 at Forest Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Weatherly following a brief illness.

Born in Hazleton, PA, June 2, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ida (Knepper) Dice and spent her life in the Hazle Township area.

Joyce was a Hazleton high school graduate in 1970. She then became a sewing machine operator for many factories in the Hazleton area before retiring. She enjoyed bird watching, sewing, making various crafts, collecting snowmen, and listening to her favorite Kenny Rodgers songs.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her brothers Paul and Arthur Dice II.

Surviving are her husband, Paul DeFrain. Also surviving are many family members who will miss her dearly including her cousin Brenda and her beloved granddaughter Cassandra Martuscelli and husband Michael and their children Angelo and Lincoln all of Sugarloaf.

Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Rd, Rock Glen is assisting the family with the arrangements.
