Eugene F. Clark, 87, formerly of Rochester, New York, passed away late Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026, at his daughter's residence in Conyngham, where he had been cared for the past year.
Born in Rochester, NY, March 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Earl and Alfreda (Osburn) Clark and had spent most of his life in Rochester.
Eugene attended Monroe High School and then graduated from Monroe Community College with his associates degree. Eugene was a US Army veteran having served from 1955 - 1958. He was employed as a Head Cook and Program Supervisor for Monroe Developmental Center for 30 years, having retired in 1987. He also worked for the University of Rochester Psychiatric Center for 10 years and owned and operated Clark's Catering with his wife for 22 years. He was a member of the Christian Faith and was a post member of the American Legion Post #76, Hazleton. Eugene loved the Buffalo Bills and was a season ticket holder for over 30 years where he and his wife loved tailgating and comrading as much as they loved the game itself. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching old westerns and Perry Mason, and cooking for his friends and family. He was a devoted, hardworking, and loving husband and daddy who will be eternally missed.
He was pre deceased in addition to his parents, by his wife, the former Mary Ellen Marks who passed away January 9, 2025; a brother, Ronald Clark, a sister, Beverly Curley; two sister-in-laws, Doris and Violet Clark and two brothers-in-laws, Dick Curley and James "Marksie" Marks.
Surviving are his daughter, Tracy Clark Miller and husband David, Conyngham; three siblings, Roger Clark, Cumby, TX; Joyce Bates and husband Carl "Butch", Edgewater, FL; and Warren Clark and wife Susan, Cowlesville, NY; and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post #76, 305 E. Diamond Ave, Hazleton, PA 18201. Interment will take place at a later date.
A Celebration of Life will also be held in Rochester, NY, sometime in March of 2026. Details will be posted on Facebook at a later time.
