Catherine E. (Wint) Helfrich

Catherine E. Helfrich, 94, of Hanover Township, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Allied Services Hospice Center Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, February 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Carl D. Wint and Catherine E. (Shulz) Keiper Wint and spent the past 66 years in Lee Park, Hanover Township.

Catherine was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School. She was employed as a Sorter for Harte-Hanks Distribution, Wilkes-Barre and retired after 30 years.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, George R. Helfrich, who passed away August 26, 2007; a granddaughter, Jessica Helfrich; two brothers, Carl D. Wint, Jr. and James Keiper, and six sisters, Gertrude Hurst, Thelma Casey, Henrietta Bergstrasser, Ruth Moses, Madeline McCarthy and Margaret Weber.

Surviving are three children, George R. Helfrich and wife Anita, Aberdeen, MD; Michael Helfrich and wife Karen, Larksville; and Kathleen Busch and husband Carl, Daytona Beach, FL; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be private, at the convenience of her family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc, (East), 669 W. Butler Dr, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
